Make Believe is a jewellery label that was born out of an obsession with creativity, art, music, design and Japan. The two founders met while living in the electrifying cosmopolitan wonderland of Tokyo. Both grew up in the wilderness; Ebony under the biggest sky in a remote valley on the South Coast of Australia and her other half in the rugged Rocky Mountains of Canada. They have been around the world (both real and make believe), ridden unicorns with Mariachis in Mexico, done high kicks with the kids in Harajuku, donned pajamas with scenesters in Shanghai and are now bringing you the latest and greatest of all things Make Believe.
With backgrounds in design and fashion the two made a pact to share the things they love with the rest of the world, and launched the Make Believe label and online store during Tokyo Fashion Week 2009. Shortly after, they collaborated with Ant!podium, creating the jewellery for a knockout catwalk show at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week.
Partly a response to the mysticism of Ant!podium’s Totally Tarot theme, the current collection Petal to the Metal is treasures from an off kilter fairy tale world where all is not saccharin sweet.
With a studio and office located in sunny Sydney, Australia, the Make Believe Dynasty is also virtual home to two main men; Interaction Designer and Developer Leslie Owusu-Appiah and Graphic Designer Yoshirotten Nishi. Spending his time backstage of this operation, Londoner Leslie builds websites and dreams with brainy codes and wizard wands. Working from Tokyo, Yoshirotten is the master behind the graphics. He creates masterpieces while the rest of the world sleeps.
At Make Believe, we are inspired by elements from the vivacious, thriving cities we’ve lived in, the rustic arms of nature of our childhoods, and strive to create for the fabulous, whimsical, unconventional people in our lives from all over the world.

創造力、アート、音楽、デザインそして日本への執着から生まれたのがMake Believe。共同設立者のアンバーとエボニー（通称アンボニー）は東京というしびれるようなおとぎの国で出会った。世界中を旅し（現実と想像のレベルで）メキシコでマリアッチ（メキシコの民族）と共にユニコーンに乗ったり、原宿のキッズとハイキックをしたり、上海の流行好きとパジャマを着た事もある2人がお届けする最新で最高のもの、それがMake Believe。過去のデザインとファッション界での経歴を生かして自分たちが愛するものを世の人達と共有する契約をした2人。
私たちはいつもおとぎの国ですごし夢見ている事が多いけれど、たまに現実に舞い戻る事もあるんです。私たちはオーストラリアのシドニーにオフィスとスタジオをおき、そこから活動しています。
Make Believe王国はさらにインターアクションデザイナーでありデベロッパーのLeslie Owusu-AppiahとグラフィックデザイナーのYoshirotten Nishiの住まいでもあります。この作戦の裏方であるLeslieは聡明なコードと魔法の杖を使ってロンドンからこのサイトの構築をしています。グラフィックの立役者が東京のYoshirotten。みんなが寝てる間に最高傑作を作り上げるのがこの人。
